Gov. Little Uses State Police to Strong-Arm Small Business
by Shari Dovale
The Hardware Brewing Company in Kendrick, Idaho reopened for business on May 1st. They had folks from around the state show up to support them, including Republican State Party Chairman Raul Labrador and Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin.
But the Idaho State Police (ISP) could not let it alone. They had to come and put their fist all over these folks that were just trying to make a living and feed their families.
The Idaho State police delivered an ultimatum to a restaurant in Kendrick Idaho today, with the caveat of “We are just the messengers”.
The ISP is not just mere messengers. The are (1) The enforcement arm for the Governor’s unconstitutional orders in general, and (2) the kingpins for the Alcohol Beverage Control Bureau.
In Idaho, the Alcohol Beverage Control Bureau is controlled by the Idaho State Police. They do it all. They issue and enforce all licensing. In fact read the letter. A copy was posted by the Idaho Freedom Foundation, and you can see it here:
Notice that the letter is signed by Capt. Brad Doty, Bureau Chief for the Alcohol Beverage Control Bureau, Idaho State Police.
Governor Brad Little may have made a proclamation, and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare put out the orders, but the Idaho State Police have their own crosses to bear, as they are threatening to pull the license of this establishment themselves!
The men that delivered the letter tried to shake off their own responsibility by saying they were only the messengers, kinda like “I am just following orders”.
Yet, it is their department, their bosses, that are doing this! They are going to take these folks livelihoods Because They Can, that is the only reason.
Not because they should, but Because They Can.
And they are doing it at the behest of Governor Brad Little.
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin issued the following statement today:
The Governor is using the Idaho State Police and the Alcohol Beverage Control Bureau to harass and intimidate private businesses in Idaho.
Hardware Brewing Company is offering goods and services only to those customers who voluntarily choose to visit a private business.
Article 1, Section 1 of the Idaho State Constitution states unambiguously, “All men are by nature free and equal, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are enjoying and defending life and liberty; acquiring, possessing and protecting property; pursuing happiness and securing safety.”
The Governor’s order and its associated enforcement are in direct contradiction to these “inalienable rights of man” which are the first words of our state constitution and the most foundational principle on which all actions of our state government must be based.

Idaho Governor Brad Little has prominently stated on the state website that people should report violations the Stay at Home order. He is trying to turn brother against brother!
If you believe someone is violating the Stay at Home order, report it to the local authorities. That may be city police, county sheriff, or Idaho State Police depending on the circumstances.
