Jessie Peters Announces Her Candidacy
for Pend Oreille’s Hospital District Board of Trustees
As a Family Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare leadership, Jessie has pioneered rural clinics, lead healthcare nonprofits, and has served on an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) board for hospital systems. Peters has personally cared for underserved patients and developed care-delivery systems to combat healthcare disparities in rural communities.
Peters is running for public office because she has a heart for rural healthcare, and always has. When asked what her vision is for the Pend Oreille Hospital District, Peters states she is a strong advocate for patient-centered care, understanding that patients know themselves best, and have the right to determine what is best for their health, treatment, and care. Jessie believes accessible care, especially in rural areas such as Bonner County, is especially important to the health of communities.
Jessie states, “As part of Pend Oreille’s Hospital District Board of Trustees, I will advocate for the health and wellness of our tax district. I will promote fiscal responsibility with our tax dollars. I bring an experienced and critical eye of financial accountability. I expect the spending of our healthcare tax dollars to reflect a well-defined and well-communicated plan. A plan that must be directly correlated to our tax district’s healthcare needs.”
