Susan Brown for WBCSD Board Trustee

Susan Brown for WBCSD Board Trustee

Since my husband contracted Covid my presence here tonight at the candidate forum is not possible. I hope that will not detract you from taking me as a serious candidate.

I am very pleased to state that I have received an endorsement from the Bonner County Republican Central Committee and will be appearing on their list of recommended candidates! Additionally, I have also received an endorsement from the Idaho True Conservatives group and will be appearing on their list of recommended candidates as well. I am proud to have received the endorsements of both groups and appreciate the commitment they have put into the vetting process.

I decided to run for School Board Trustee simply because when you look at the real numbers we have some serious issues going on. We have LESS than 1200 students, and yet

* We have the highest Cost per student at just under $13k ,
* We have the lowest Graduation rates at just over 75%
* We have the lowest ISAT test scores at 76%

Since the very first school was built in Bonner County in 1894, our citizens understood that the future of our community depends on the productiveness of our children.

We owe the students of WBCSD a fair and well balanced education.

We need our parents to be a working part of this system.

Our students need to know that when they graduate, that diploma means that they can read, do math and write at a level of 12th grade or better.

One of the things I strongly support is that the taxpayers have a right to all the information regarding our schools and the financials. In doing some research I could not find where any “Requests for Proposals”  had been sent to contractors in Idaho, in regards to the remodeling of the School Cafeteria.  This is a concern and should make you wonder why?

Additionally, I strongly support:

* Getting focused on the basics of education
* Parents rights/values  need to be acknowledged
* CRT or it’s ideology should not have a place in the classroom
* Parent/Guardian permission for all sexual related presentations
* No Co-Ed bathrooms or Locker Rooms

Thank you for your time and consideration in my candidacy for WBCSD Board Trustee.
