Todd Engel Endorses Janice McGeachin
I would like to congratulate Janice McGeachin on her “Complete and Total Endorsement” from President Trump.
Upon that endorsement, she has been immediately criticized for her support of me and those who stood beside me in protest at a ranch in Nevada in 2014.
Before the protest on April 12, 2014, federal authorities surrounded the rancher’s home, two nights in a row, with multiple sniper teams to “surveil” him before any protesters had arrived at the ranch. A few days later, federal authorities’ body-slammed a man, had attack dogs poised over him, and snipers on the hill aiming rifles at him, all for taking pictures with his iPad. Shortly thereafter, a 60-year-old woman was grabbed from behind by a federal officer and violently thrown to the ground for protesting.
While all of this was occurring, federal authorities were shooting these ranchers’ cattle from helicopters and shooting them in their cattle pens under the guise of reclamation. They were also destroying his “state-owned deeded waters” in direct violation of state law and direct violation of their court orders.
On April 12th, federal officers stated over a loudspeaker that they were prepared to use deadly force against protesters who were in a circle praying. They aimed multiple rifles at these folks as they threatened them. All of this for not protesting in the “First Amendment Area” the agents had set up in the middle of the desert.
According to the federal authorities and the MSM, this rancher owed $1.3 million in back grazing fees. At all three trials, the government’s attorney from D.C. testified that the amount owed was $8,810.
While I was serving a 14-year sentence in federal prison for participating in this protest, Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin openly supported me and my fight for freedom. For this, she has come under extreme criticism.
After 4.5 years behind bars, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the jury’s conviction for due process and 6th Amendment violations. I was then remanded back for retrial. The government refused to retry me and released me “with prejudice”, restoring all my rights.
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin’s bold and unwavering support for me and others who were wrongfully incarcerated for this protest reveals her true love of justice, the rule of law, and her willingness to stand for the citizens of Idaho. For this reason, she has my full and unwavering support.
PS. Many of us actively participating in the struggle for liberty and justice have been labeled many things, all of which are utterly false. Some of these claims are that we are anti-government, racist, and violent. Nothing could be further from the truth. We denounce, vehemently, all forms of religious supremacy, racism, and hatred towards our fellow man and believe all men have been created in the image of God.
